Service · Ai enhanced imagery

AI enhancement, applied to every image we make.

Photoreal visualisation for housebuilders, architects, and developers. Every project type, every scale — from a single dwelling to a masterplan with airports and hospitals on the same site. CGI built. AI finished. Indistinguishable from photography.

The principle

Enhancement, not erasure.
Never generation.

AI enhancement is the studio standard — applied to every image we produce, regardless of which service you commissioned. It isn’t an add-on. It isn’t a filter. It’s the final stage of a production workflow that’s been designed around it from the first model build.

The CGI render is the foundation. The AI layer is what makes it indistinguishable from photography. Without an accurate model underneath, AI imagery has tells. With 24 years of craft underneath, it doesn’t.

How the treatment is calibrated

The layer varies.
The standard doesn’t.

Different image types call for different levels of enhancement. Product stills need precision and restraint. Architectural visualisation calls for atmosphere and depth. Interior imagery needs surface richness. Animation needs frame-by-frame consistency across the whole sequence. One principle governs all of it: anything specified stays exactly as specified.

Product CGI stills

enhancement applied

Surface character, lighting quality, subtle depth and shadow

what stays locked

Exact finish, brand colour, material specification, geometric detail

Interior visualisation

enhancement applied

Light quality, atmospheric depth, material richness, surface softness

what stays locked

Room layout, specified products, exact finishes, named SKUs

Architectural CGI

Sky, atmosphere, ambient light, weather tone, populated scenes

what stays locked

Building geometry, window positions, material specifications, site data

All of the above — applied frame-by-frame with full sequence consistency

what stays locked

Frame-by-frame accuracy, no drift, no flicker, no morphing between cuts

01

Interior visualisation

The geometry and product placement are exact. The room reads as CGI — correct but flat. The AI layer adds the light quality, surface warmth, and atmospheric depth that makes it read as a photograph of a real room.

applied

Soft window light, material warmth, depth gradients, shadow quality

preserved

All specified products, exact finishes, named SKUs, room layout

02

Product CGI

Product imagery demands precision. Brand colours, finish specifications, and named materials can’t drift. The enhancement lifts light quality and surface character while leaving every specified detail untouched.

applied

Lighting quality, surface reflectance, shadow gradient, depth

preserved

Brand colour, named finish, exact geometry, panel lines

03

Architectural visualisation

Atmospheric depth is the biggest gain in architectural work. Real-looking sky, golden-hour light, populated scenes — these were specialist add-ons. Now they’re part of the enhancement layer applied as standard.

applied

Sky quality, golden-hour atmosphere, populated scene, haze, depth

preserved

Building geometry, window positions, material spec, site accuracy

Worth being clear about

What it isn’t.

AI imagery gets used loosely as a term in the industry. Here’s what we mean by AI enhancement — and what we explicitly don’t offer and don’t do.

A filter applied at the end

The AI layer isn’t bolted on after the render. The CGI is built knowing the enhancement layer will follow. The two are designed to work together from the outset.

What it actually is

Building geometry, window positions, material spec, site accuracy

Image generation from a prompt

The image starts as a CGI render of an accurate model. AI is enhancing real geometry, real materials, real light — not generating a scene from text.

What it actually is

Enhancement of an accurate CGI render. The model does the work. The AI lifts it.

A way to skip the CGI build

Without an accurate model underneath, AI imagery has tells. The CGI is what makes the AI layer credible. One doesn’t replace the other.

What it actually is

The final stage of a build that still starts with 24 years of CGI craft.

Applied across every service

There’s no version
without the layer.

Every image that leaves Red and Gray goes through AI enhancement as standard. It’s included in every quote, every timeline, every delivery. If you’re commissioning from us, the layer is already in the brief.

The commercial case

Why the layer
changes the economics.

The AI enhancement layer isn’t about aesthetics. It’s about what happens commercially when CGI crosses the line into photography. Clients stop questioning the process. Buyers engage with the product. Image approval rounds shorten. Production volume becomes viable at scales that photography can’t match.

At that threshold, the image stops being a cost and starts being a commercial asset.

Common questions

Things clients ask
about the AI enhancement layer.

Six questions that come up in nearly every first conversation. If yours isn’t here, ask.

No. AI enhancement is the studio standard — it’s applied to every image we make, regardless of which service brought you here. Product CGI, architectural, interior, animation: all of it runs through the same layer. There’s no “with AI” upgrade. The image you see in the final delivery is the image you commissioned.

No. The principle is enhancement, never erasure. Anything specified — finish, brand colour, named SKU, exact material, geometric detail — is preserved at full fidelity. The AI lifts light, atmosphere, depth, and surface character. It doesn’t override the spec. If you’ve asked for it, the image carries it.

Because the image starts as an accurate CGI render of a real model — not a prompt-generated scene. The AI is enhancing geometry, light, and materials that already exist in the build. There’s nothing for it to invent. That’s the difference between AI imagery that has tells and AI-enhanced imagery that passes as photography. The 24 years of CGI craft underneath is what makes the AI output credible.

Same treatment, harder execution. Every frame in an animation goes through the same enhancement layer as a still — but with the additional requirement that the layer holds consistently across the sequence. No flicker, no drift, no detail morphing between cuts. The standard at delivery is the same: every frame would pass the still test on its own.

No — because it’s the studio standard, not an add-on. Every quote already assumes the AI layer is part of delivery. The level of treatment is calibrated to the image type during production, but the cost and timeline are agreed up front. There’s no “with enhancement” or “without enhancement” pricing.

Yes — we routinely share the CGI render at sign-off, and the enhanced version at first draft. That’s part of how revisions work. If something has been lifted in a way that isn’t right for the brand or the brief, we adjust at the enhancement stage rather than re-rendering from scratch. Most clients only ask for the comparison once. After that, they trust the layer to do its work.
